Ratz! I Was Hoping Donald Trump Would Not Stoop To "Politics-As-Usual" Tactics!

Gee...I think I am sadly disappointed that Donald Trump has begun to show signs that he, too, is stooping to the same low practices that politicians have been using for decades to try to sling mud and dirt at the rest of the 'running flock' of candidates.

The campaign strategists probably know there's no way to avoid this kind of practice, since it has been in use for so long, and the rest of the campaign community uses it quite freely.

But I was really hoping The Donald might have enough positivity and forward-thinking political strategy that he would not have to ever stoop to these ugly practices, that, in my (humble) opinion, only serve to demonstrate just how 'childish' and foolish that some of our so-called "leaders" can really be, when they want something strongly enough, y'know?

Why Do We Insist On Building Walls - Instead Of Bridges?

It sometimes seems like many regions of our world are becoming more and more 'isolated', with countries building walls and fences between certain factions of society and certain cultural or economic disparities that accentuate one region's prosperity over a neighboring region's poverty.

Case in point, USA vs. Mexico. We know the U.S. is more prosperous in an overall sense, and has numerous government assistance programs, modern healthcare, minimum wage and labor protection laws, and much more.


Mexico, unfortunately, is not so prosperous, apparently; else the number of border-crossing-illegal-immigrants would not be what it is. Most are seeking "a better life", where they (presumably) can earn much more than what they can earn at home...not to mention all the 'programs', right? 

So...is the right answer really to build impenetrable walls and spend countless billions monitoring, maintaining, and otherwise managing all the goings on that such walls require?

Paris - City Of Love?

It is extremely difficult to think of Paris, France as the "City of Love" right now, because it is clearly anything but that, with the horrific terrorism the entire world is observing, and, in a very real way, living through it along with the people who are most closely impacted.

Nothing we can think or say or do can reverse what has been done, and nothing we can think, say, or do can guarantee nothing like this will ever happen again...

Except LOVE...the very thing Paris, France is most fondly regarded and remembered for. The very thing the world seeks guidance from Paris for. 

The very thing that 'romanticists' everywhere reflect upon when describing the power of true, positive, emotional, 'spiritual' energy at work.

Kudos To Lady Gaga - Just Saying "NO"!

Lady Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta) recently gave a speech at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, for what is known as the Emotion Revolution project. In her talk, she spoke of feeling her passion and creativity were 'taking a back seat', and she felt like just a 'money machine' for the industry (etc.?).

I must say, I AM impressed and even feel sorry for Lady Gaga; as she delivered her heartfelt words about her life in the 'limelight' being something she felt was 'shallow' and 'communicating lies'. She talked, too, of feeling so much better, once she began to think and care for herself, by 'putting her happiness before her career'.

At one point, apparently, Lady Gaga even considered quitting, but once she began saying "NO" to some of the things she felt might jeopardize her happiness, she decided to continue.

Does this mean we might begin to see a whole new Lady Gaga?

Do You Typically "Degust" Your Meals?

I can't help but think that I have been guilty of "degusting" my meals, or snacks, or drinks. 

Although I don't think I degust things as a general rule, I must say there have been times.

Surely, when we degust our meals (etc.), we can often find benefit in doing so, if we are paying enough attention to things. 

The items we degust can become somewhat 'different' in some ways, since the practice lends itself to having the power to alter our opinions about some of the things we degust.

Are You A "Comminatory" Individual?

I like to think that I am not too "comminatory", although it is probably not up to me to decide, since the term is one which is most likely to be used by others, perhaps in reference to me...maybe?

While I do not think of myself as 'comminatory', I must admit that there might be some things about me that others could think are representative of that. 

Sometimes we just don't know what others might think, of course...and this is one word that I hope I can avoid, at least with respect to how I might appear to others.

Have You Ever Had A "Cacoethes"?

There are times when we all experience "cacoethes", in my (humble) opinion. Indeed, even the thing I have chosen to do in this particular blog post here at "Just Saying My Piece!" is, perhaps, an example of a cacoethes of sorts. 

I have decided that some of the words I have been writing about lately should probably be accompanied by at least some means of help with the pronunciation of them, since some of them are not what I would call 'readily-pronounceable' without some help, y'know?

Even this word, "cacoethes", is one which is not 'readily-pronounceable' for me, though I'm not just sure why that is. My first attempt to pronounce it would probably be something like: "kaa-ko-ee'-this" (hmmm...hopefully, that's pronounceable! - here we go!).

So, it's sometimes difficult to pick up the 'phonetics' of some words, thus, my decision to do more about pronunciation in some of these "weird word" blog posts of mine...which, as you'll (hopefully) see, is one example of what 'cacoethes' actually means.
