How To Get A Trillion Dollars!

I cannot fathom a trillion dollars! It is way beyond my capability to understand just what can be done with a trillion dollars. 

I know one thing; a trillion dollars is just a "wee-bit" more than I have in MY piggy bank!

Here are some things that a trillion represents as a general number:

WE COULD:

• Circle the globe forty million times to reach a trillion miles.
• Travel to the sun and back over five thousand times to reach a trillion miles.
• Travel round trip from New York to Los Angeles over 160 million times to reach a trillion miles.
• Travel to the moon and back over two million times to reach a trillion miles.
• Populate (to Earth population of 7.2 Billion) more than 130 Earth-sized planets with a trillion people.
• Populate more than 3000 United States countries with a trillion people.
• Purchase over three million 2009 Rolls Royce Phantoms or Bentley Azures or Maybachs with a trillion dollars.
• Purchase over 20 million 2009 Chevy Corvettes with a trillion dollars.
• Wrap the earth almost 4000 times with a trillion one-dollar bills laid end to end around the globe.
• Stack a trillion dollars worth of pennies to reach over half-way to the sun. 
• EDIT: This is incorrect, but I decided to leave it in here, since this article has been previously published in other of my sites. Plus, I'm human, so I goofed. Sorry 'bout that, but this article isn't so much about actual facts as it is about conceptual size and relative examples, right?
• Actual distance would be more like all the way to the sun! 
• Here's the formula: 
• Pt (Penny thickness: .0598 inches) x 100T (number of pennies for $1T) / 12 (inches per foot)  / 5280 (feet per mile) = 94M+ miles. I think this is right; it gets confusing to me!).

Now about the trillion dollars; just for the trivia in it:

What is a trillion dollars? 

A trillion dollars is written as:
$1,000,000,000,000.00; with 12 zeros before the decimal point!

• That's one thousand billion! 
• That's one million million! 
• That's one billion thousand!

What can be done with a trillion dollars? 

I cannot make a list of all the great things that we all know a trillion dollars could be well spent on; the list would fill more pages than I could ever write!

Suffice it to say that a trillion dollars could educate, feed, heal, house, and otherwise care for much of the world for quite some time. 

• A trillion dollars could pay for property damages for about ten Katrina-style disasters (heaven forbid!). 
• A trillion dollars could be used for real 'urgencies' like world hunger and world peace and homelessness and health care.
• A trillion dollars could educate so many people.
• A trillion dollars could feed so many people.
• A trillion dollars could house so many people.
• A trillion dollars could provide health care for so many people.
• A trillion dollars could go a very long way toward rebuilding and modernizing decaying infrastructures and utilities.
• A trillion dollars could fund massive solar, wind, and other renewable energy efforts.

And on and on this list goes, of course.

So, now do you get a trillion dollars? 

Yeah...me neither. 
Here, let's put it in a better perspective...I think it looks less ominous like this, y'know?
