Are the birds behaving strangely this year - 2012?
This article from 2012 discusses what seemed to be a 'fluke' of some kind with how the birds were behaving, most notably yellow-finches. They seemed 'frantic', always at the thistle feeders, and flitting about nervously. Of course, we now wonder if they were somehow preparing for what was to come later that year...Hurricane Sandy!
Are any of the "OCCUPY" venues making any impact?

It's been quite some time now since the "OCCUPY" movement began. I know there are still numerous "OCCUPY" efforts at work, though it seems the whole thing has died out quite completely in the news, at least. That said, have a look at this article from 2011 that reflects a bit on how it looked back then.
12/21/12 Is Over - Now What?
Somewhat dated article relating to the Mayan Calendar predictions that some believed had significant meaning for the date of 12/21/12. Allegedly, the Mayan Calendar of reference ends on that 'projected' date, and some folks thought such things as the date meaning the end of the world.
